Roncalli High School freshmen Alec Viduya and Tyce Freije each won semi-state wrestling titles earlier today and advanced to next week’s state finals.

Viduya won the 113-pound class to earn his third postseason title in as many weeks.  With four wins today, Viduya improved his season record to 43-2.  Freije won the 120-pound class after finishing third in last week’s regional.  Freije won four matches today to improve his record to 37-7.

The Rebels, who had nine wrestlers competing in today’s New Castle Semi-State, compiled 65 points to finish third in the team scoring behind Cathedral and Perry Meridian.

The first round of the state finals will take place on Friday night (February 17).  The quarterfinals, semifinals, consolations and finals will be contested on Saturday (February 18).  All matches will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.
