Guerin Catholic Girls Soccer Upsets Nationally Ranked Carmel

The ladies traveled to perennial state (#3) and national (#26) power Carmel on Friday night.
Both sides were able to take in a competitive contest that had an October feel and environment about it to wrap up the first week of the season.
Carmel had the run in the first half, and saw the Golden Eagles do just enough to maintain and end the 40′ with a 0-0 score.
Senior co-captain Elle Vuotto was able to connect a touch to a free ball in the box to beat the CHS GK to the weak side post for the game’s lone score. The Golden Eagles pushed the balance of the half to earn the win away from home.
GCHS senior GK Claire Gavin did her part to earn the second consecutive shutout for the group, notching 4 nice saves on the evening.
