Rebels Move to 2-0 in Conference Football Play

Brebeuf Jesuit – Brebeuf was no match for 5A #1-ranked Roncalli, losing 45-18 in the Rebels’ homecoming game. Roncalli scored every time it had the ball in the first half, rolling to a 31-7 halftime lead. Rebels QB Connor Gore was nearly perfect, going 15-18 for 208 yards and two TDs and also rushing for a score. The Braves were led by 132 combined rushing yards from QBs Derrick Ozobu and Jakobi McGowan, and Ozobu had the Braves’ longest play from scrimmage this season, an 80-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter. However, it was not enough to overcome turnovers and 0-for-10 third-down conversions.
Brebeuf will host Guerin next Saturday night at 7:00 in search of their first ever Circle City Conference Win against the Golden Eagles.
