Braves Top Trojans to End BVB Play

CCC – Conference play in Boys Volleyball concluded Thursday night with the Brebeuf Braves triumphing over the Chatard Trojans in straight sets.  The final standings for the season are:

  1. Roncalli
  2. Brebeuf jesuit
  3. Guerin Catholic
  4. Bishop Chatard

Brebeuf Jesuit – The Trojans of Chatard paid a visit to Brebeuf for Senior Night and a Circle City Conference match, and found themselves on the short end of the stick, leaving with a defeat at the hands of the Braves. The first set found the Braves scrambling a bit as Chatard managed to find the hosts unprepared and just going through the motions. The score was 10-10 before the Braves began to focus and then slowly go on a couple small runs to gradually pull away to win 25-16. The second set was a serving clinic, particularly by senior David House, as he managed to get his topspin jump serve rolling. This set was never in doubt as the Braves easily won, 25-7. The third set found the Braves serving tough again, with Isaac Hau doing some damage his first time around. The Braves closed out the set and match, 25-10 on a set from senior Tanner Waltz to senior David House, who put it down against a broken block, thanks to senior Micah Jackson driving for a middle attack that held Chatard’s middle long enough for David to put the ball down for the win.
