GuerinGuerin Catholic placekicker Caleb Quick booted a 54-yard FG with 11 seconds left in a tie game to give the Golden Eagles a 13-10 Circle City Conference victory over Brebeuf Jesuit. The Golden Eagles raced out to the lead, lead by Carter McGinnis’ legs. He rushed for over 100 yards again and had the Golden Eagles out in front. A furious comeback by the Braves tied the game at 10-10 with under a minute to play on Luke Iffert’s 10-yard TD pass to Max Kucer. Brebeuf elected to squib kick and Guerin Catholic then got to the Brebeuf 37 in their final drive to set up the winning FG.
Luke Iffert led the Braves with 121 yds passing to go with Will Turner’s 55 yards rushing, and Alex Potts added a FG and a clutch game-tying PAT kick to his perfect 2016 season.
Next week, Guerin Catholic travels to Chatard and Brebeuf hosts Cathedral on Senior Night.
