Roncalli Rebels Win the 4A State Championship!!!

The Rebels win the 4A State Championship and complete an undefeated season.
OFFENSIVE STATS
The Roncalli offense scored TD’s on 6 of their 10 drives, piling up 272 yards rushing and 154 yards passing (426 total) behind yet another dominating performance by the offensive line.  The Rebel “O” outgained one of the top-ranked offenses in the state by nearly 150 yards.

  • Derek O’Connor – 12 for 18 passing for 154 yards / 30 carries for 173 yards / 3 TD runs / TD pass
  • Kenny Gillum – 12 carries for 70 yards
  • Jacob Fryar –  24 yard catch
  • Luke Smock –  4 carries for 45 yards / 10 yard catch / 34 yard TD run
  • Jacob Luedeman – 2 catches for 85 yards / 70 yard TD catch
  • Aidan Parker – 3 catches for 15 yards


DEFENSIVE STATS
The Rebel defense held the vaunted Northwood offense to nearly 200 yards less than their average on the season, and to half of their usual point total.  Two timely interceptions also helped lead to two Roncalli TD’s. 

  • Cade Morgan – 6 tackles / sack
  • Gabe Otley – 4 tackles / interception
  • Alex Kuntz – 6 tackles
  • John Harris – 4 tackles / sack
  • Jones Asher – 4 tackles
  • Demarcus Smith – 4 tackles / sack
  • Dylan Williams – sack / interception returned 42 yards


SPECIAL TEAMS STATS
The Rebel Special Teams proved to be the better of the two units.  Roncalli was perfect on PAT’s, limited kick returns to a minimum in coverage, turned in a big kick return of their own to start the second half and forced a fumble on a punt.

  • Patrick Sandler – 4 for 4 on PAT’s
  • Michael Dill – 51 yard kick return
  • Luke Hanley – involved in 4 of the 6 tackles made on kickoffs
  • Luke Smock – recovered a fumbled punt
