Guerin Catholic Soccer Dominate in Opener

The gals were ready to get the season underway, and played host to the Shamrocks Monday evening on our new turf field.
The defense for WHS was under fire early, and the GK responded well making a couple of outstanding saves.
Senior co-captain Megan Wampler’s goal off of freshman Quincy McMahon’s cross opened the scoring. The Golden Eagles would score three more times in the first (McMahon x2, Corley x1…Assists by Heck, Corley, McMahon).
The second half saw more wrinkles for the GCWS crew, but the girls manufactured a few more looks to the back of the WHS net, with McMahon and Heck both scoring within the first 6′ of the second half. Sophomore McKenna Corley added another goal 27′ in (assists by Stradling and Lewis).
Senior Claire Gavin earns part of the shutout, with freshman Olivia Labus finishing the better part of the second half.
