Guerin Catholic Pounds the Net Against Northwestern

Forward Sophomore Sam Grocki banked his first goal of the season to put the Golden Eagles up by one at halftime. Freshman Forward Joe LaFiosca scored to open the second half followed by Daniel Cloran three seconds later. Seniors Shane Johnson and Noah Dewaal capped off the scoring. Freshman Goalkeeper Aiden Perhacs posted his first clean sheet in his first varsity start. “We’ve been working on a number of new concepts and the team did well to put them to use tonight, which is tough because there is a lot going on the first full week of school” said Chris McGrath, who is in his first year as the Golden Eagles’ head coach.
“I thought We were able to move the ball around well, and I really thought we were going to get one more at the end, ” said Andrew Garvey, whose final second free kick missed by inches.
The Golden Eagles open their home season on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 against Circle City Conference opponent Heritage Christian. Kickoff is at 7:00 EST.
