Brebeuf Braves Girls Soccer Clinches Share of Conference Title
With Tuesday night’s victory over the Heritage Christian Eagles, the Braves clinch at least a share of the conference title. they are now 3-0 with one game remaining. A win over Roncalli would fully secure the title of Circle City Conference Girls Soccer Champions!
Brebeuf Jesuit – The Brebeuf Jesuit girls soccer team played its first home game of the season Tuesdayand what a special night it was. The Braves held their annual “Kicking Out Cancer” event, raising money and awareness in the fight against cancer and came away with a 6-0 Circle City Conference triumph over Heritage Christian at Varsity Field.
The Braves, ranked No. 2 in the state by Indiana Soccer Coaches and ranked No. 17 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer, are now 4-0-1 in ’17 and will next play on Friday at 5 PM at the prestigious Eagle Invitational in Zionsville.
Senior captain and goalie Reni Osuntokun recorded another shutout win for the Braves in the net. Reni has allowed only one goal all season.
Sophomore midfielder Sophie Weeter scored two goals for the Braves while senior captain Hallie Pearson increased her team lead in assists to five with two vs. HC. Senior captain Alexa Holl, senior captain Kayla Fitts and junior Alex Meltzer each added a goal and an assist. Fitts is second on the team in assists with four. Junior forward Brianna Arthur also had a goal for the Braves. Arthur is tied with Pearson for most goals for BJPS with four.
