Tournament Play Heats Up

Tournament play begins for many Circle City Conference teams this week, starting tonight at Carmel where the Guerin Catholic Boys Soccer team will do battle with Zionsville at 6:00 pm. Sectional 10 play continues tomorrow when the Brebeuf Braves face their hosts at 7:00. Roncalli faces Greenwood at Franklin Community on Tuesday at 7:00. Bishop Chatard travels to Danville where they will face Northwest (Tuesday, 7:00). Heritage Christian hosts Sectional 40 and will face Shortridge on Tuesday at 7:00.

In Girls Soccer, the 17-0-1 Brebeuf Braves begin their tournament journey at Guerin Catholic on Tuesday against Pike at 7:00. This will be a rematch of last week’s Marion County Tournament’s opening game, which the Braves took 4-0. Guerin Catholic will face Westfield on Thursday at 7:00. Roncalli will travel to Bishop Chatard to face Broad Ripple on Tuesday at 5:15. The host Trojans will then face Northwest immediately afterwards. Heritage Christian will travel to Triton Central on Thursday to face Bethesda at 7.
The City Alliance Volleyball Tournament gets underway tonight, but Bishop Chatard and Heritage Christian do not play until Wednesday. Each will host games against “teams to be decided” at 6:30 in their respective gyms.
The IHSAA Volleyball State Tournament will be held tonight at 7:00 pm on IHSAAtv.org. Greg Rakestraw will be hosting this fun event which can be streamed straight through your mobile device.
The road to the Cross Country State Finals begins Saturday morning. Guerin Catholic will travel to Noblesville for Sectional 19. Brebeuf will be hosting Bishop Chatard and Heritage Christian for Sectional 20. Roncalli travels to New Palestine for Sectional 21. In each location, the boys races are slated for a 10:30 start with the girls beginning at 11:15. Good luck to all Circle City Competitors. There are several runners with an excellent chance of racing in Terre Haute in a few weeks!
