Jack and Zach Too Much for Trojans
The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles traveled south to face conference rival Bishop Chatard on Friday night in the back half of a girls/boys doubleheader. Coming into the game, they were enjoying an eight game winning streak over the Trojans. A 19-2 start would ensure that number would reach nine. Despite several valiant BC runs, they could never cut the lead to less than nine. Each time it seemed the momentum was shifting, the Golden Eagles would bang home a three. IUPUI commit Jack Hansen was dominant at both ends of the floor. He and Zach Munson led GC in scoring with 17 and 16 points, respectively. The Trojans, who continued to fight until the final horn, were led in scoring by Edreece Redmond (11). The victory moves Guerin Catholic to 2-1 in the conference with a game against Brebeuf Jesuit remaining. They still have an opportunity to win the conference title at this point. Bishop Chatard falls to 1-1. They also still have an opportunity to bring home a title. They will face Roncalli and Brebeuf Jesuit in the weeks to come.
