Brebeuf Remains Unbeaten in Conference Play

The visiting Brebeuf Braves improved to 3-0 in conference play on Friday night against their host, Heritage Christian.  A dominant second quarter in which Brebeuf outscored the Eagles 15 to 8 ultimately decided the outcome.  The two squads played to a virtual draw in the second half, with Brebeuf hanging on for the eleven point victory.
Junior Simon Banks led all scorers with 18, 12 of which came on his 4 for 8 shooting from behind the arc.  Fellow junior Spencer Reist also added 14 points of his own.  Senior Brennan Fitzgerald led the way on the glass with 8 rebounds.
The win improves Brebeuf to 3-0 in the conference.  They will face Roncalli (3-0) on Friday night for the conference championship.  The Eagles finished conference play at 0-4.  They suffered two one-point losses (Bishop Chatard and Roncalli) and lost to Guerin Catholic by four.  Returning a fair amount of firepower next year, they should be in a position to make a jump in the standings.
