Braves beat Golden Eagles to take control of conf (B-S)

Brebeuf Jesuit – In a game that was delayed for nearly 1 hour due to the weather, the Braves stormed all over the Golden Eagles in the first half to take a commanding lead 2-0 in the first 25 mins with goals from Jr Joey Smith and Sr Captain Mitchell Amstutz.
The Braves dominating performance continue throughout the second half and had several opportunities to score but weren’t able to capitalize, until 10 mins left in the game when the Braves were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box. Amstutz hit a powerful shot that struck the crossbar and landed over the goal line for his second goal of the night.
The Braves now lead the Circle City Conference with 6 points and will face the Carmel Greyhounds on Tuesday.
Guerin Catholic – Boys Varsity dropped a conference match to Brebeuf, 3-0, slipping to 1-1 in the Circle City Conference. “Brebeuf played well, and we used a different scheme. Our short goal is to get back on form before the next match,” said Head Coach McGrath. The boys are back in action against Harrisonnat home in August 30.
