HCS Lady Eagles improve to 3-1 in conference play

CCC – The host Lady Trojans led by as many as 7 and seemed to be in control most of the night until the fourth quarter.  Heritage Christian’s Sydney Watkins took over down the stretch in the Eagles’ offensive end, slashing to the basket, creating scoring opportunities, and getting to the free throw line.  Tight defense and a Trojan cold-spell from behind the arc saw the lead grow over the final two minutes to the eventual 7-point final difference, 52-45.  The win moves Heritage Christian to 3-1 in conference play and keeps their hopes alive to repeat as champions.  They are currently tied with Covenant Christian who beat them earlier head-to-head.  The Trojans are 1-1.  They would need to win out and for Brebeuf Jesuit to top the Eagles to have a shot at the title.
