Big Weekend
It’s a big weekend for the Circle City conference. It all starts on Friday with the wrestling state finals where three Circle City Conference wrestlers will be competing. Roncalli’s Bryce Lowery and Luke Hansen both punched their ticket last weekend to return to the state finals joining Guerin Catholic’s Peter Nguyen.
Also on Friday the conference also has a basketball doubleheader with Heritage Christian (2-2 in CCC play) traveling to Brebeuf Jesuit to face the Braves (2-1 in CCC play). The winner of this game will clinch at minimum a share of the conference title. Roncalli will also host Guerin Catholic on Friday night. The Royals enter the game 1-2 in conference play while the Golden Eagles are 2-2. A win for either team will give them a chance at a share of a conference title. The basketball season is coming down to the wire with the possibility of a 4-way tie still looming.
It does not stop there, however, Bishop Chatard girls basketball team continues their run on Saturday traveling to Jasper to face Indian Creek. The Trojans have gotten hot at the right time avenging two conference losses as part of a four-game win streak to lead them to Semi-State.
Goodluck to all of these teams and athletes competing this weekend.
