2023-24 Conference Coach of the Year

Coach Sean Yau of Guerin Catholic HS was named the Conference Coach of the Year for 2023-24!  In 4 years as Guerin Catholic Head Coach, Sean Yau has not only continued the winning ways of an already tradition rich girls soccer program, but has elevated it. After a Class 3A State Runner-Up finish in 2020, Yau guided the Golden Eagles to the 2023 Class 2A State Championship. During the 2023 campaign, the Golden Eagles won the Circle City Conference for the second time in four years with a perfect 5-0 record. As postseason play arrived, the Golden Eagles emerged from the sectional gauntlet that included the top 3 teams in Class 2A. The tournament run included wins over 5 teams in the top 10 rankings, culminating with a state championship over Leo High School, the first in school history. The team finished 16-4-1 while remaining unbeaten in 15 of the last 16 games of the year.
