Conference Sportsmanship Summit – 10/8/2024
The 2024 Conference Sportsmanship Summit was held at Bishop Chatard on 10/8/2024 with 60 student-athlete attendees from the respective schools!
Attendees heard from the IHSAA Commissioner Paul Neidig on the ‘State of Athletics in Indiana’ and the importance they each have with the health and experience of education-based athletics in their backyard and beyond!
2023-24 Conference Coach of the Year, Sean Yau of Guerin Catholic, addressed the group on his experiences, and how they can be the best teammate possible through their leadership experiences.
One session included a “getting to know you” exercise where each attendee had to meet at least three others they did not already know, and learn about them.
Sergeant First Class, Anthony Wray, took the attendees through a team building and communication exercise.
The Summit attendees also participated in small group discussions on their ideas on how to best improve Conference Sportsmanship experiences and interaction between Conference opponents.
