Football – Fall of 2024
Bishop Chatard, coached by Rob Doyle, won the Football Conference Championship by defeating the other Football-playing Conference members throughout the season! Roncalli finished runner-up. All Conference players chosen by the member school head coaches include:
Bishop Chatard – Eddie Benson, Harrison Forestal, Zion Haney, Declan Hostettler, Mike McGinley, Kade Rickard & Lucas Tremain
Brebeuf Jesuit – Braylen Bowling, Taylor Clark, Maverick Geske, CJ Harris, Jay Hmurovich, Parker Maiers & Edwin Watson
Guerin Catholic – Hayden Cler, Malcolm Houze, Elias Niccum & Dylan Vargas
Roncalli – Will Hegwood, Brody Heidelberger, Robert Houser, Eli Lauck, Sam Neu, AJ Richardson & Rudy Schoettle
Post season tournament action found Bishop Chatard, Brebeuf Jesuit & Roncalli in the same 4A Sectional grouping, and Guerin Catholic competed in their 3A Sectional. The Golden Eagles defeated West Vigo & Hamilton Heights before losing to Tri-West in their Sectional Final. In the 4A Sectional opening round; Bishop Chatard defeated Crispus Attucks, Roncalli defeated Northview and Brebeuf Jesuit won a wild one in Overtime to defeat Danville! In the Sectional Semi-Finals; Bishop Chatard defeated Mooresville and Roncalli beat Brebeuf Jesuit. In the Sectional Championship hosted by Roncalli, the Trojans survived a very close back-and-forth contest that saw huge plays & momentum swings to defeat the Royals, 28-24. The Trojans hosted New Palestine in Regional action, and lost a very hard fought Overtime contest – 21-28 to end their season.
