Girls Soccer – Fall of 2024
Bishop Chatard, coached by Ashton Balch, won the Girls Soccer Conference Championhsip by posting a 3-1 record against Conference competition, and edging Guerin Catholic on a regular season head-to-head tiebreaker! All Conference players chosen by the member school head coaches include:
Bishop Chatard – Olivia Berzai, Marcy Boyle & Reese Sochacki
Brebeuf Jesuit – Aly Arena & Leah Berg
Guerin Catholic – Madigan Canavan, Olivia Eaton, Mia Gatz & Jordan Laferriere
Heritage Christian – Kya Crooke & Lauryn Dolvin
Roncalli – Summer Fishel & Sophia Lewis
Post season tournament action found Heritage Christian (1A) hosting & winning their Sectional contests! Roncalli (2A) won their Sectional in dominating fashion! Brebeuf Jesuit hosted possibly the most competitive Sectional (2A) in Indiana that included Bishop Chatard & Guerin Catholic and another Top 10 ranked squad in Park Tudor! The Braves opened the competition with a win over Hamilton Heights, 3-0. The Golden Eagles avenged their regular season defeat by besting Bishop Chatard, 3-0 in one Semi-Final; and Brebeuf Jesuit beat Park Tudor, 1-0 in the other Semi-Final. Brebeuf Jesuit then won the Sectional by posting two goals in the 2nd half against Guerin Catholic for a 2-0 result! Heritage Christian cruised through their competition winning their Regional Championship, and then traveled to Evansville North to play Providence to a 1-1 standoff during regulation & overtime periods. The Eagles came up short & lost to Providence 3-4 in PKs. Roncalli & Brebeuf Jesuit both dispatched their Regional Semi-Finalist opponents in order to play each other in the Regional Championship match where the Braves made an early goal stand for a 1-0 victory! Brebeuf Jesuit traveled to Martinsville to play their Semi-State contest against Lawrenceburg where the Tigers were able to make a 1st half score stand for a 1-0 win.
