Boys Golf – Spring 2025

Guerin Catholic, coached by Mark Mathews, won the Boys Golf Conference Championship at Broadmoor Country Club on April 21st!  Brebeuf Jesuit’s Braves finished runner-up.  Jackson McCullough of Brebeuf Jesuit earned Medalist honors carding a 2-under round of 70! Other All Conference team members included: Eli Wessel, Guerin Catholic; Will Parenteau, Guerin Catholic; Owen Nielsen, Guerin Catholic; Brady Wagner, Guerin Catholic and Gabe Sulit, Roncalli.

 

Post season play had Roncalli playing in the Franklin Sectional at the Legends Golf Club where the Royals missed advancing to Regional by one stroke placing in 4th. Bishop Chatard and Heritage Christian competed in the Cathedral Sectional played at Maple Creek Golf Club. The Trojans were bumped from advancing placing 4th. Matthew Marrano of the Trojans placed 3rd overall in Sectional & advanced to Regional where he shot a 77 and missed advancing to State by 3 strokes. The Eagles placed 2nd at Sectional, and 7th overall at Regional. Tate LaBrune of the Eagles shot a 74 at Regional to advance to State where he placed tied for 88th place. Guerin Catholic played in the Westfield Sectional at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon and shot a very strong 299 team score, but placed 4th in an incredibly difficult grouping of schools where 4 of the top 8 teams in the State competed for 4 advancing spots! Eli Wessel of the Golden Eagles placed 2nd at Sectional, was medalist at Regional, and then placed tied for 24th at State. Robbie Burt of the Golden Eagles also advanced from Sectional, then placed 4th at Regional to advance to State where he placed tied 36th place. Brebeuf Jesuit hosted their Sectional at the Golf Club of Indiana and won carding a strong team round of 298! The squad then finished 6th at Regional and missed advancing to State.
