Golden Eagles Again Dominate Conference Girls Golf!
Guerin Catholic, coached by Mark Mathews, again defended their Girls Golf Conference Championship winning at Smock GC hosted by Roncalli Athletics on August 25th! Bishop Chatard’s Lady Trojans finished runner-up. Ali Scott of Guerin Catholic earned Medalist honors carding a round of 70 (-2). Other All Conference team members included: Sydney Delagrang, Reagan Kaercher & London Payne of Guerin Catholic; Clare Kirchgessner & Emily Wendt of Bishop Chatard; and Izzy Huxley of Roncalli.
Post season play had Guerin Catholic & Brebeuf Jesuit at a very competitive Sectional at Pebble Brook GC where the Golden Eagles team was able to advance placing 3rd, and the Braves just missed advancing with a 4th place finish. Ali Scott of Guerin Catholic earned All Sectional honors, and Annie Baxter of Brebeuf Jesuit advanced as an individual to the Regional. Bishop Chatard played their Sectional at Maple Creek GC where the Trojans defended their Sectional Championship. The Trojans Caroline Boyd earned Sectional Medalist honors with a round of 82 on a very rainy & dismal day, and teammates Charlotte Becker & Emily Wendt earned All Sectional All Sectional honors. Roncalli played their Sectional at Hickory Stick GC and placed 4th just missing Regional advancement. Roncalli’s Ava Wenzel & Izzy Huxley both advanced as individuals to the Regional. Each Conference player competed well at Regional, but only Guerin Catholic’s Ali Scott able to advance to the State Championship. Ali competed well at State finishing in a tie for 32nd place in the individual competition.
