Roncalli Wins 1st Conference Title in Girls Soccer!
Roncalli, coached by Lacey Herschel, won their first Girls Soccer Conference Championhsip by posting a 2-1 record against Conference competition, and edging Bishop Chatard on a regular season head-to-head tiebreaker! All Conference players chosen by the member school head coaches include:
Bishop Chatard – Olivia Berzai, Marcy Boyle & Addy Jahn
Brebeuf Jesuit – Ashley Preston, Lila Weeter, Chloe Williams & Mackenzie Winters
Guerin Catholic – Riley Banks, Annie DeBone, Lily Dunklap & Chloe Henderzahs
Roncalli – Becca Engel, Addie Gates & Selah Roach
Post season tournament action found possibly the most competitive Sectional (2A) in Indiana that included Bishop Chatard, Brebeuf Jesuit & Guerin Catholic and another Top 10 ranked squad in the host Park Tudor! The Trojans opened the competition with a win over Guerin Catholic, 1-0. The Trojans then defeated Brebeuf Jesuit in PKs 4-3 in one Semi-Final. Bishop Chatard then lost the Sectional Final 2-1 to Park Tudior. Roncalli hosted their Sectional and dominated the competition beating Speedway, 5-0 in the Semi-Finals; and then Herron, 7-0 in the Championship! The Royals won a hard-fought Regional Semi-Final, 2-1 against Danville before losing a heartbreaker to Park Tudor, 1-0 in the Regional Final.
