Brebeuf Jesuit Girls XC Repeats As Conference Champs and Bishop Chatard & Guerin Catholic Place at STATE

Brebeuf Jesuit, coached by Nick Klinger, won the Girls Cross Country Conference Championship for the second year in a row at their Home course on September 27^th! Bishop Chatard’s Lady Trojans finished a close runner-up, and Guerin Catholic just behind them with 8 points separating 1^st thru 3^rd places. Julia Score of Bishop Chatard defended her Conference title running her 5K in 17:46.7.  Other All Conference team members included: Lucy Wood, Brebeuf Jesuit; Isabel Garcia, Brebeuf Jesuit; Grace Leppert, Bishop Chatard; Chloe Tragesser, Guerin Catholic; Katie Kolb, Guerin Catholic; Annemarie Klingler, Brebeuf Jesuit; Tessa Mize, Roncalli; Talia Sicuso, Brebeuf Jesuit and Brinna Wolf, Guerin Catholic.

Post season experienced several Conference squads’ success stories! Brebeuf Jesuit placed 2nd the Ben Davis Sectional with Lucy Wood(2^nd), Isabel Garcia(3^rd), Annemarie Klingler(11^th) & Talia Sicuso(13^th) each earning All Sectional honors. Roncalli placed 5^th in the Shelbyville Sectional with Tessa Mize(5^th) & Ava Shirley(6^th) earning All Sectional honors. Bishop Chatard finished 4^th in the North Central Sectional with Julia Score(3^rd), Grace Leppert(9^th) & Ceci Jackson(16^th) earning All Sectional honors. Guerin Catholic placed 5^th in the very tough Noblesville Sectional with Chloe Tragesser(6^th) earning All Sectional honors. At the Regional Championships, Bishop Chatard was 3^rd & Brebeuf Jesuit placed 7th at the Brownsburg Regional. All Regional honors went to Julia Score(Champion), Lucy Wood(7^th), Ceci Jackson(10^th), Isabel Garcia(11^th) & Grace Leppert(13^th). Brebeuf Jesuit was unable to advance their team from Regional, but both Lucy Wood & Isabel Garcia individually advanced to the State Meet. Guerin Catholic placed 4^th in the Shelbyville Regional with Chloe Tragesser(7^th) making the All Regional squad. Roncalli finished 16^th at Shelbyville with Tessa Mize(19^th) earning All Regional distinction. The Royals were unable to advance their team from Regional, although Tessa Mize individually advanced to the State Meet.

At the State Championship at Terre Haute’s LaVern Gibson Cross Country Facility, Bishop Chatard placed 8^th & Guerin Catholic was 18^th overall! All State honors were earned by Julia Score (7^th) and other Conference Finishers in the top 75 included: Isabel Garcia, Brebeuf Jesuit(27^th); Grace Leppert, Bishop Chatard(30^th); Lucy Wood, Brebeuf Jesuit (31^st); Ceci Jackson, Bishop Chatard(36^th); and Chloe Tragesser, Guerin Catholic(63^rd)!!
