Brebeuf Jesuit – The Brebeuf Jesuit Softball Team came from behind to defeat Guerin Catholic on Monday, 12-11. The win moves Brebeuf to 4-7 on the season. The Braves started off the game strong when Gabby Davis hit a 3 shot homerun to right field. The Braves led 4-1 after 1 inning. Guerin came back in the 4th and 5th innings scoring 4 in each to take a 6-11 lead. In the 6th inning, Sophie Weber and Davis each scored on a wild pitch that cut the lead to 8-11. Defensively the Braves held Guerin scoreless in the top of the 7th, so the difference remained 3 heading into the bottom of the 7th. Sarah Niednagel and Ali Bowen both walked to get the rally started. Then Weber hit a triple to right field scoring both. Davis then singled to left field to score Weber, evening the game at 11-11. Davis scored the winning run after stealing home on a wild pitch. The Braves recorded 12 hits for the game from 8 different players. Weber led the game with 3 hits and Jill Nanagas and Davis each had 2. Davis led the game with 4 RBIs and Weber and Anika Pirkle each added 2 RBIs. Pitcher, Jocelyn Swan got the win for the Braves, striking out 1 and walking just 1.
