Roncalli – The varsity baseball team lost a tough game at Guerin Catholic 4-3, a game that was well played by both sides. Will Schoettle pitched 6 solid innings. The Rebels took a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning on a 2 out 2 RBI single by Dominic Brown, but Guerin Catholic would answer with 2 runs of their own to tie the game at 2 after 5 innings. After back to back doubles in the 6th inning by Cole Beckman and Will Schoettle to put the Rebels up 3-2, they would load the bases with no outs. It looked like the Rebels would add to the lead, but Nathan Gramman hit a hard line drive right at the 3rd basemen and the Rebels were doubled off. Guerin Catholic would tie the game at 3 in the bottom of the 6th and win the game on a wild pitch in the 7th. Beckman and Brown both had 2 hits, and Brayden Speziale was 3-3. The Rebels played really well and will get another shot at Guerin Catholic tomorrow night at home, game time is 5:30.
