Brebeuf Jesuit – The Brebeuf Girls Basketball Team lost to Covenant Christian on Thursday night. The Braves got off to a good start in the first quarter. Gabby Godbout hit 2, three pointers in the quarter and the Braves trailed by just 2 at the end of the first, 11-13. Too many turnovers in the second quarter led to easy baskets for Covenant and the Braves trailed 18-39 at the half. Brebeuf played a strong second half but were unable to cut into the lead at all and fell with a final score of 34-60. Freshman, Maddy Geary had a strong defensive game and led the Braves with 2 steals, resulting in 8 points. Senior, Caroline Hauser and freshman, Maeve Perry also had strong games and each had 7 points. The Braves fall to 3-4 on the season and will play Arsenal Tech next on Saturday afternoon.
The JV Girls Basketball Team beat Covenant on Thursday, 32-21. Riley Morris and Maeve Perry led the game with 8 points each. Courtney Lamberson and Alaina Miiller each added 5 points in the win. The JV moves to 5-3 on the season.
