Brebeuf Jesuit Wins Boys Basketball Conference Title

The Brebeuf Jesuit Braves secured the first ever Circle City Conference Boys Basketball Championship with a 60-51 victory over the Roncalli Rebels last Friday night.
Brebeuf lead throughout the game, as the undermanned Rebels gave a fantastic effort, but Roncalli came up short to the talented Braves club. Malachi Rice and Simon Banks led BJPS with 16 points apiece, with Banks tallying 10 in the pivotal 4th quarter. The Braves also knocked down 14 free throws in the 4th quarter as Roncalli attempted a furious comeback.
The Rebels were lead in scoring by Kellen Schrieber with 16 points and Colin Sonderman pitched in 10 points.
The Braves end the season with a 13-8 overall record and finish 5-1 in the conference, while the Rebels end at 15-8 overall with a 4-2 conference record. Both teams will be in action this week as Sectional play begins. Brebeuf Jesuit hosts Sectional 27 and the Braves open sectional play versus Indianapolis Manual on Wednesday evening. Roncalli begins play in Sectional 11 with Perry Meridian on Tuesday evening at Decatur Central.
